How to Access
Accessing PHOX Chat is easy from the main PHOXHub menu. Head over to https://phox.app and select PHOXChat! If you don't have access or do not see it in the "My Apps" tab, please contact our support team for help.
Every time you open PHOXChat, you will be prompted to consent to a disclaimer. You may watch a disclaimer video as well. Click on the checkbox and then click "CONFIRM AND PROCEED".
The Home Screen
The home screen of PHOX Chat has several key features:
You can start new chats or continue old conversations with PHOXChat using the chat history.
A profile icon to access your settings.
A help button to access our support resources.
A chat box with a send button to type in questions and followup questions.
Example Walkthrough
Let's go through an example where you ask a question during patient counselling.
You will see an answer start to populate in a box that has a few tabs. Each tab represents an "expert" that focuses on a specific clinical area. Here is what each tab means:
Synthesis: The final answer that combines information from multiple AI experts.
Medication Information. An AI expert that summarizes the medication information.
Safety Assessment. An AI expert that watches out for safety issues with a medication.
Evidence Quality. An AI expert that assesses the quality of evidence related to your answer.
Critical Alerts. An AI expert that looks for red flags and contraindications.
For this exercise, we'll go straight to the "Synthesis" tab and take our answer from there.
We'll also check the footnotes and references by either clicking on a footnote or clicking on the "VIEW SOURCES" at the bottom of the answer.
Now we can browse the content of the source for Metformin:
Notice on the top right, there is a link to the original source in the CPS. That gives you an option to go straight to the source!
As a clinician, it is really important that you always check the references in each answer PHOXChat gives you. AI models are not perfect and sometimes make mistakes summarizing information.
Finally, let's provide some feedback to PHOXChat so it can be continuously improved. Hit the "thumbs up" or "thumbs down" buttons to provide feedback.
