Why
A test booking checks that your services, times and confirmation messages work. It is also the quickest check that the earlier steps worked. On the store setup card it is one of the optional steps shown once your store is live, under Worth doing next (later, Follow-ups). You can make one at any time from New Appointment, before your store goes live too: staff bookings work while patients can't book online yet, and a booking made then counts for this step.
Make the booking
Once your store is live, select Book a test appointment on the step. Before then, or at any time, select New Appointment on the Dashboard. The New appointment dialog opens. You need permission to create appointments; without it the step has no button.
Choose a service and a time, and enter your own name and contact details. The confirmation goes to the contact details you enter, by the channel you consent to.
Confirm the booking.
Find the appointment in Appointments and cancel it so the time is free again.
If no services or no times show, go back to Choose the services you offer and Set your booking hours.
When the step is done
The step is done as soon as any appointment exists at the store, cancelled ones included. If you tested another way, select Mark done.
