What are quick action cards?

The Dashboard has up to four quick action cards that give instant access to common tasks. They sit below the store setup card. The My Work Hours card is hidden when head office has turned off staff schedule matching for your store.

Available cards

Search by patient or appointment card

Purpose: Quickly find and manage patient records.

How to Use:

  1. Click the Search by patient or appointment card

  2. In Find Patient or Appointment, type a last and first name, a phone number or a booking number (open Advanced to search by email)

  3. Select from the search results

  4. View or manage the patient record

Keyboard Shortcut:Ctrl + K

Appointments card

Purpose: Navigate directly to the appointments list.

How to Use:

  1. Click the Appointments card

  2. You'll be taken to the Appointments page

  3. View and manage all scheduled appointments

New appointment card

Purpose: Book an appointment, by phone or for a patient at the counter ("Book or walk-in").

How to use:

  1. Click the New Appointment card

  2. The New appointment dialog opens, with the Booking rail on the right showing three steps:

    • Patient and services: the patient (and any family members), the services, and the eligibility and screening questions read to the patient

    • Time: the date and the next open start time, and a pharmacist if wanted

    • Contact and consent: email or phone, Booked by (Phone or Walk-in), the privacy notice and consent, and what the patient will receive

  3. Click Confirm booking, then give the patient the confirmation code from the done screen

There is no review step and no "Now" button: the rail keeps a summary of each step, and for a walk-in you pick the next open time today and set Booked by to Walk-in.

When the card reads Booking disabled, staff booking is switched off for your pharmacy. Head office controls this setting; ask them to turn it back on. See Booking a new appointment for the full guide.

My Work Hours card

Purpose: View and manage your personal work schedule.

How to Use:

  1. Click the My Work Hours card

  2. You'll be taken to the My Work Hours page. If staff schedule matching is not turned on for your pharmacy, you stay on the Dashboard.

  3. View your schedule, set default hours, or add custom shifts

Tips

  • Use the Search by patient or appointment card multiple times daily — it's the fastest way to find patients

  • The New Appointment card opens the same dialog as the calendar-plus button in the header; set Booked by to Walk-in for a patient at the counter

  • All cards are accessible from anywhere by returning to the Dashboard
