How to see the shortcut list in-app

Using shortcuts

Patient search (Ctrl + K)

Opens Find Patient or Appointment. Type a last and first name, a phone number or a booking number. To search by email, open Advanced.

This shortcut works even when you are typing in a form field.

Navigation shortcuts (Ctrl + Shift + letter)

Navigate instantly to any main section:

  • D for Dashboard

  • A for Appointments

  • C for Calendar (the side menu's Calendar, not the Appointments page)

  • P for Patients

  • W for Waitlist

These shortcuts are disabled while typing in text fields to avoid interference. On a Mac, use Cmd in place of Ctrl.

Note: In Chrome and Edge, Ctrl + Shift + W closes the browser window, and the portal cannot stop that. Use the side menu to open the Waitlist in those browsers. Other Ctrl + Shift combinations may also be taken by your browser.

Shortcuts help (Shift + ?)

Press Shift + ? to open the keyboard shortcuts overlay showing all available shortcuts.

Tips for efficiency

  1. Learn Ctrl + K first — patient search is the most commonly used shortcut

  2. Use navigation shortcuts to move between sections without clicking

  3. Practice regularly — shortcuts become faster with use

Shortcuts not working?

If shortcuts aren't responding:

  1. Click anywhere on the page to ensure it has focus

  2. Check if a modal dialog is open (close it first)

  3. Make sure you're not typing in a text input (navigation shortcuts are disabled in inputs)

  4. Ensure your browser hasn't captured the shortcut

  5. Shortcuts work only after you sign in, not on the sign-in page
