How do I book an appointment for a patient?

Pharmacists can book appointments for patients directly through the PHOX booking system. To begin, ensure that the patient is properly linked in your dispensing software. This connection is important, as it allows PHOX to recognize the patient and ensures that their information is accurate and consistent across systems.

Once the patient is linked, navigate to PHOX Book. From there, use the Patient Search function to look up the patient you would like to book an appointment for. If the patient already has an existing PHOX Profile, simply select it to proceed.

In cases where the patient does not yet have a PHOX Profile, you will have the option to create one on their behalf. This profile acts as the patient’s online record within PHOX and is required to schedule appointments. Creating the profile only takes a few moments and ensures the patient’s future bookings are seamless.

After the profile is either selected or created, you can continue to book the appointment on behalf of the patient. This process allows pharmacists to assist patients who may not book appointments themselves, making it easier to coordinate care and ensure timely access to pharmacy services.
