Limiting Access Outside the Pharmacy for Pharmacists

PHOX requires an email address to set up user accounts. However, some pharmacy managers and owners prefer to limit access to PHOX outside working hours—for example, ensuring pharmacists can only use the platform while at work. In some cases, users may not have their own email address or prefer not to reuse a shared store email.

To accommodate these scenarios, you can use a placeholder email trick that keeps things simple, secure, and organized—without needing new email accounts for every user.

📥 Steps to Bypass the Email Requirement

1. Use Gmail’s “+” Feature for Placeholder Emails

If your pharmacy’s primary email is:

demopharmacy@gmail.com

You can register new PHOX accounts using modified versions of this address that still route to your main inbox:

demopharmacy+relief@gmail.com demopharmacy+temp@gmail.com demopharmacy+parttime@gmail.com

Each variation is treated as a unique email address by PHOX, but all notifications and messages will still go to demopharmacy@gmail.com.

✅ Benefits

  • Limit access outside work hours: Use these placeholder emails only on in-store devices.

  • Centralized communication: All PHOX-related messages still go to one central inbox.

  • Flexible role management: Easily create logins for part-time, relief, or rotating staff without new email accounts.

💡 Pro Tip

You can use this method to label logins by role, shift, or usage type. It also makes account tracking simpler for managers.
